Ben Uri: Survival & A Purposeful Future

With the successful launch last year of Ben Uri as the First Full-scale Virtual Art Museum and Research Centre, and content, engagement and outreach growing exponentially, Ben Uri's Chair and senior colleagues will answer all questions on the past, present and exciting future of Ben Uri from 6:00pm GMT, Tuesday 23rd March.

  • The far-reaching futuristic approach to how a small purposeful museum can reinvent itself and reshape its operating policies to maximise public benefit and return on investment

  • The rationale supporting the refining of the collection, the legal hierarchy of the decision-making process, deaccessioning and methods of disposal

  • The current and future strategy to deliver a thriving, purposeful, and distinctive Ben Uri in 2050 and beyond

  • The Ben Uri Research Unit (BURU) for the study and recording of the Jewish and immigrant contribution to British visual culture since 1900

  • The redefinition of the collection to dovetail with the focus of the Research Unit, including recent acquisitions
