Painter Dinora Mendelson was born in 1924, the daughter of the artist Lilian Holt and her first husband Jacob Mendelson. Upon her mother’s second marriage, she became step-daughter to the painter David Bomberg, with whom she studied at the Borough Polytechnic from 1947-53, becoming a member of the Borough Group and the Borough Bottega. She was married to the painter Leslie Marr (1948-56), whom she also introduced to Bomberg's classes; her second marriage was to the actor Bernard Davies-Rees. She exhibited at the Archer Gallery and with the London Group and the National Society, as well as with Ben Uri. She died in London in 2009.
