CHAIR OF TRUSTEES
David Glasser is Chair of the Trustees, although he does not chair monthly Board meetings as he operated as Chief Executive of the museum until October 2020 when Sarah MacDougall took up her appointment. Born in Glasgow, he built his corporate career at Marks and Spencer Plc where he pioneered the Food Only Store concept and then at Ward White Group Plc, where he was responsible for varying development and marketing functions, up to the acquisition of the company by Boots Plc. He formed Northgate Consultancy, which advised blue chip corporations on strategic development and was involved in, and led, a number of businesses between 1990 - 2000. He became involved in Ben Uri in the late 90s and agreed to lead the development of a new strategic plan to re-invigorate and re-establish the museum, which had effectively been closed to the public since losing its gallery. In October 2000, he was elected Executive Chair and has operated since in this role full time on a pro bono basis. To avoid any personal or corporate conflicts of interest, he withdrew from business in 2001 to focus on creating a new style of museum engagements addressing contemporary issues and social integration through the visual creative arts. He led the 2018 sustainability and public benefit strategy which transforms Ben Uri from physical to digital.
David is on the Court of the London South Bank University, a member of the Worshipful Company of Art Scholars, and is a Freeman of the City of London.
As Chairman & Chief Executive of Blacks Leisure Group Plc, following a series of unrelated acquisitions led by the previous chairman, Simon Bentley stabilised the company's operations and built the management team into a settled force. He grew the operations, principally organically, to create First Sport, a thriving sports brand division owning, licensing and distributing a large variety and number of sports brands. After a nearly fatal accident, he returned to Blacks to implement a recovery, following his absence, recovering from severe injuries.
Since he has chaired and been on the board of numerous companies, both listed and unlisted, based principally in the UK. He was the Senior Independent Director of Sports Direct International plc for 11 years, and is currently an independent non-executive director of Premier Foods Plc. Simon established and has grown a successful niche mobile ATM operation with specialist vehicles which trades as ‘Cash on the Move’.
Alongside his commercial activities he has consistently been involved in charitable and educational organisations, including: The Leadership Trust, Kisharon, JABE (Jewish Association for Business Ethics), Ben Uri Gallery & Museum, Yad Vashem UK Foundation, Saving Faces, and many others.
Jeremy built his career in the retail sector after leaving the Boston Consultancy Group. He is currently non-Executive Chairman of the Gorgeous Retail Group, Bayfields Opticians and Audiologists and Revital Ltd and is a non-Executive advisor to the Scottish Midland Co-operative Society. He sits on the Trustee Board of the Teenager Cancer Trust and is a member of the Development Board of Christ Church, Oxford. He was co-founder and Managing Director of The Perfume Shop chain, Group MD of Merchant Retail Group Plc, Chief Executive at AS Watson UK, of Superdrug and of White Stuff Group. In 2021 he graduated with an MA on the Art Market and the History of Collecting.

Andrea is a solicitor and Legal Counsel at Crédit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank in the Structured Products and Derivatives team within Capital Markets Legal. Prior to this role he worked at Linklaters LLP in Milan, London and Hong Kong from 2011 to 2017. Andrea is also a trustee for the 999 Cenotaph, a charity whose mission is to create the UK first 999 Cenotaph dedicated to all who have served in the UK emergency services and the NHS.
Andrew’s career centres on executive search, building management teams for a range of start-ups and blue chips in the telecoms, software and cleantech markets. He is CEO of Recelera, a drug discovery business that is searching for new solutions to a range of degenerative conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s and Huntingdon’s disease.

Carolina is Managing Director of EMEA at CI&T, a leader in driving digital transformation for global brands. CI&T supports Fortune 1000 companies drive growth and continuous innovation across business, people, and technology. She operates as a catalyst working in three key areas: customer experience, digital and innovative transformation. She has considerable experience working across CPG and Life Sciences sectors as well as technology. Carolina has helped transform leading companies such as Roche, Coca-Cola, Sanofi, Johnson & Johnson, and Ericsson to prepare and adjust their business for rapid adaptation in the digital world.

Adam enjoyed a highly successful career in software development, principally with Microsoft USA for over 25 years. At Microsoft, his roles included servicing the technical needs of major financial services sector clients, was the assistant technical advisor to Bill Gates, and served as the main person between Windows and its key software partners such as WhatsApp, Facebook and Google. He is the author of four books and over 200 press articles. Having retired from Microsoft in 2017 and returned to the UK, he has been engaged with a number of start-ups both as an advisor and board member.
HR, OPERATIONS AND OUTREACH
Joanna worked for the British Council in different capacities including staff development internationally and managing large global projects and programmes including UK Operations Change, Global Performance System, Risk Framework and Business Process Mapping. Her voluntary community roles include serving as Director of Polish Children’s Syrena Theatre for seventeen years encompassing artistic and organisational management. She also was Director and Trustee of Polish Social and Cultural Association (POSK) including eight years as Chair, carrying out her executive role on a pro-bono basis overseeing the full range of Board portfolios, with a particular interest in the Centre’s cultural offering.
PR, MARKETING AND BRANDING
Deborah is Founder and Creative Director of Gerety, a design & marketing agency that focuses on identifying strategic problems and delivering creative, workable solutions to take businesses forward. She has over 20 years’ experience in graphic design, branding, marketing, project management, training and lecturing and operates within the corporate as well as the charity sector. Deborah is also an angel investor focusing on female and underrepresented founders as well as ESG investments. In her free time, she acts as a personal and business mentor to people from difficult backgrounds looking to make a life or career change.
